My Approach

Non judgemental, warm, engaging and confidential.

I have a wide range of clinical trainings and many years of experience working therapeutically with individuals and couples.

​

I offer regular, weekly therapy sessions on an ongoing or  time limited basis.

This can either be face to face or online.

 

I provide a safe, confidential space where either you alone, or you with a partner both feel equally heard, supported and taken seriously.

​

 

An initial consultation is an opportunity for you to tell me what's troubling you, to explore the unique dynamics of your situation or your relationship and for us to see if ongoing therapy with me might be helpful for you.

As I get to know your story or your couple story we explore your family background, your early childhood experiences and their influences on your struggles today.

 

Referrals: self referrals, GPs and clinical colleagues

I also make ongoing referrals to range of colleague specialists known over the years (child, adolescent, family therapists, psychiatric assessments)

Confidentiality

I adhere to a strict code of professional ethics under the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Ethical Guidelines and the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT) Code of Ethics and Practice. Confidentiality is an important part of these standards - you need to and should feel comfortable and protected discussing personal issues. I would not disclose information about you to a third party without your permission, except in situations where there was a serious worry about harm coming to you or someone else - I would endeavour to talk with you about this beforehand during our session. As your contact details are also private, I am registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under the Data Protection Act. 

If a couple is being seen together, I will assume that information can and will be shared between you. If you have any questions about confidentiality, please feel free to discuss them with me during our session.
